· Entrance Exam Date: 13th December, 2025 (Saturday).
· Last Date for Submission of Application: 27th August, 2025.
· Have you applied?: You have indicated yes. Therefore, the application process is complete.
· Admit Card: Available for download now. It is mandatory for the exam.
How to Prepare for the Exam
To prepare for the exam, it is important to know the exam pattern and contents.
- Exam Pattern: The exam is of 2 hours duration and has a total of 80 multiple choice questions. Details of each section:
· Mental Ability Test: 40 questions | 50 marks
· Arithmetic Test: 20 questions | 25 marks
· Language Test: 20 questions | 25 marks
Note: There is no negative marking in this exam (no deduction for wrong answers).
- Exam Language: Students from Bangalore Rural district are allowed to write the exam in Kannada. They can also choose English or Hindi.
- Exam Center: Your admit card will have the details of the taluk center allotted to you.
How to download the admit card
You will need the registration number and date of birth that you received after applying.
- Visit the Navodaya official website: https://navodaya.gov.in or https://cbseitms.rcil.gov.in/nvs/.
- Find the link “Admit Card”, “Admission Card” or “JNVST Admit Card 2026-27”.
- Enter your registration number and date of birth.
- Download the admit card and take a clear printout. Important Note: Check that your name, photo, address of the examination centre, date and time are printed correctly on the admit card. If there is any mistake, contact the official helpline immediately.
Preparation on the exam day and next steps
· Exam day: Admit card and photo ID (Aadhaar card) are mandatory.
· Time: As the exam starts at 11:30 am, it is advised to reach the exam centre at least 30 minutes early.
· Result: After the exam, the district-wise list of selected students will be published. After that, the documents of the selected students will be verified.
🚫 What if I do not apply?
The application period for class 6 this year (2026-27) has ended. However, the admission process for the next year (2027-28) usually starts in the months of May-June.
Eligibility rules to keep in mind for the next year:
· Class: Should be studying in class 5 in the year of admission.
· Age Limit: Must be born between 1 May 2014 and 31 July 2016.
· District Residence: Must be a resident of the district in which the application is being submitted.
