Job Introduction
jnp recruitment 2025 – Jawaharlal Nehru Planetarium (JNP), Bangalore, is an autonomous institution managed by the Bangalore Association for Science Education under the Department of Science and Technology, Government of Karnataka. Its main objective is to popularize science and provide informal science education.
The organization is currently inviting applications from eligible candidates for the posts of First Division Assistant (FDA) and Second Division Assistant (SDA). In view of the Karnataka Government order dated 29.09.2025 providing age relaxation (one time only) in the recruitment of staff, the last date for submission of applications has been extended up to October 31, 2025. Those who have already applied need not apply again. These posts are posted in Bangalore and carry attractive pay scale and allowances as applicable to Karnataka Government employees.

Qualifications and Experience
First Class Assistant (FDA)
- Essential Qualification: Graduation or Post Graduation with at least 50% marks from a recognized University.
- Experience: 5 years of experience in the field of Accounting.
- Other Qualifications:
- Computer operation, proficiency in software packages like Tally, Excel etc.
- Knowledge of Kannada and English typing.
- Proficiency in speaking, writing and reading Kannada and English languages.
- Desirable: Master’s Degree in Commerce (M.COM) or MBA in Finance
Second Class Assistant (SDA)
- Essential Qualification: Graduation from a recognized University with minimum 50% marks.
- Other Qualifications:
- Computer operation, Tally, MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, etc.) software packages.
- Kannada and English typing knowledge is required.
- Good communication skills in Kannada and English.
- Desirable: Post Graduate Degree/Diploma in Law/Personnel/Human Resource Development, Diploma in Commercial Practice. Shorthand and ability to prepare promotional materials in Kannada and English.
Other important criteria
Age limit
Must not exceed 28 years as on the last date for receipt of applications.
Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe: 5 years relaxation.
Backward Classes (OBCs): 3 years relaxation.
Specially-abled and retired servicemen: Exemption as per rules.

How to Apply
- Download the prescribed application: Interested candidates should download the application form from the official website of Jawaharlal Nehru Planetarium taralaya.karnataka.gov.in.
- Fill in: The application form should be filled in completely and copies of all the required documents should be attached.
- Mark on the envelope: The name of the post (“Application for the post of First Class Assistant” or “Application for the post of Second Class Assistant”) should be clearly mentioned on the envelope.

Selection Procedure
- After screening the eligible candidates, they will have to appear in a Written Test and Interview.
- The details of the date, time and venue of the written test and interview will be intimated separately to the shortlisted candidates.
- Travel Allowance (TA) will be refunded to the candidates from outside the district who appear for the interview as per the rules.
