There is good news for the candidates waiting for the UGC NET December 2025 session. The National Testing Agency (NTA) has released the official notification for this session on October 7, 2025.
The online application process has also started as soon as the notification is released.
Interested and eligible candidates can apply by visiting the official UGC NET website, ugcnet.nta.nic.in from October 7, 2025 to November 7, 2025 at 11:50 PM. The application process is completely online, so it is important to complete the form on time.
UGC NET December 2025 Eligibility: Who can apply?
Before applying for UGC NET December 2025, candidates must ensure that they fulfill the eligibility criteria. Candidates appearing for this exam must have a Master’s degree or equivalent qualification from a recognized university or institution.
Candidates from General/UR category must have at least 55% marks in their Master’s degree.
Candidates from OBC (Non-Creamy Layer), SC, ST and PWD categories must have at least 50% marks.
What is the age limit for JRF and Assistant Professor?
There is no upper age limit for eligibility for Assistant Professor.
For Junior Research Fellowship (JRF), candidates must meet the age criteria set by UGC (generally a maximum of 30 years, except for some exempted categories).
New system for candidates with four-year graduate degrees
UGC has also allowed four-year graduate degrees (FYUGP) holders to appear for NET examination. Candidates who have completed a four-year undergraduate programme and secured at least 75% marks or an equivalent aggregate rank are also eligible for NET.
UGC NET December 2025 Application Fee: How much is the online exam fee?
Candidates applying for the UGC NET December 2025 exam will have to pay a registration fee as per their category.
Candidates belonging to the General (General) category will have to pay ₹1,150.
The application fee for General-EWS and OBC-NCL categories is ₹600.
Candidates belonging to SC, ST, PWD and Third Gender categories will have to pay ₹325.

There, click on the link titled “Registration for UGC-NET DEC 2025 Latest News!”
Then click on the link “Registration for UGC-NET DEC 2025”.
Now, click on “New Registration” and register by filling in your required information. This will provide you with a username and password to login.
After logging in, fill out the application form.
