KPSC Group B Jobs Exam Pattern

How is the competitive examination procedure for the recruitment of Group B posts conducted by the Karnataka Public Service Commission, how many papers and how many marks will be the examination is given below.

Many departments of the Government of Karnataka get approval from the Government to fill up certain posts from time to time as per requirement and submit a proposal to the Karnataka Public Service Commission for recruitment. Among those posts, some Group B posts are also filled up through direct recruitment from time to time. In this article, the recruitment procedure and examination procedure for Group B posts other than Gazetted Probationers are mentioned in this article.

What are the qualifications for Group B posts filled by KPSC?
Generally, to apply for Group B posts other than Gazetted Probationers, graduation qualification is usually prescribed in terms of the department and duty of the post. In some cases, there is a case where a Master’s degree is prescribed for some posts.

Recruitment Test Procedure for Group ‘B’ Posts
Compulsory Kannada Language Test
No candidate is eligible for selection for any Group B post conducted by KPSC unless they qualify in Kannada Language Test. This exam will be conducted for a maximum of 150 marks and a candidate must score at least 50 marks to qualify in this paper. This exam will be prepared with Kannada as the first language at the SSLC level as the standard. But this exam is conducted only for those who have not studied Kannada as a language at Matric, PUC level or have not cleared the Kannada Language Eligibility Test conducted earlier by KPSC.

Competitive Exam
The competitive examination will consist of two written question papers of 300 marks each in objective multiple choice format.

Negative Marking In these tests, one-fourth of the marks allotted to the questions will be deducted for each wrong answer. The Question Paper Content, Marks, Exam Timing are as follows.

Points to note
The question papers will be in Kannada and English language.
A candidate must score at least 35% of the total marks in the competitive examination to qualify.
The Kannada Language Examination / Competitive Examinations will be conducted at any central venue designated by the Commission.
If there is any ambiguity in the translation of the questions in Kannada language, the candidates should refer to the English language questions to understand.
KPSC will release the syllabus for Group B posts when notification is issued.
