UGC NET Exam Postponed

The National Testing Agency (NTA) has issued a notification that the UGC-NET exam will be conducted on June 18 instead of June 16. The postponement was based on the representation of the aspirants that the dates of UPSC Prelims and NET exams were clashing.

The exam center cities will be displayed on the NTA website 10 days before the exam, NTA said. The UGC-NET exam is a qualifying examination for Indian nationals for ‘Junior Research Fellowship and appointment as Assistant Professor’, ‘Admission as Assistant Professor and admission to PhD’, and ‘Admission only to PhD’ in universities and colleges across the country.

UGC Chairman Mamidala Jagdish Kumar has informed about this. On microblogging site X (formerly Twitter), the UGC chairman said the decision was taken after considering the feedback from the candidates. An official notification will also be issued in this regard.

National Examinations Council and UGC have decided to shift the UGC-NET from 16th June (Sunday) to 18th June 2024 (Tuesday) due to the feedback received from the candidates. NTA will conduct UGC-NET across India in OMR mode on a single day. NTA will issue a formal notification soon.
