How to update Baal Aadhaar Card
The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) has recently released guidelines regarding Aadhaar card for children known as BAL Aadhaar. As per the latest guidelines released by the authority, it is mandatory to update biometric information in Aadhaar data for children between five and 15 years of age.
Recently, it is mandatory to update biometric details of children between 5-15 years of age. UIDAI tweeted that this procedure is free. Further, after updating the biometrics, no change needs to be made in the child’s Aadhaar number, the authority announced in another tweet. Therefore, the authority has asked the parents to visit the nearest Aadhaar enrollment center to fill the form and update the biometric data of the children.
For the information of the uninitiated, UIDAI is the government authority that regulates the 12-digit Aadhaar and issues Bal Aadhaar card to children under the age of five. This card is required to access various welfare schemes and benefits. Moreover, it is mandatory for children from birth as digital photo proof of identity.
Here is the process to apply for Bal Aadhaar Card:
Step 1. Go to UIDAI official website uidai.gov.in.
Step 2. Click on Aadhaar Card Enrollment option.
Step 3. Fill the mandatory information like child’s name, parent’s phone number and other necessary biometric information related to the child and his/her parents.
Step 4. The next step is to fill demographic details including residential address, state and other details.
Step 5. Check all the details and press submit.
