Karnataka State Government has recently launched Kashi Yatra Yojana Karnataka. It was approved by the Cabinet in late June. Under this scheme, about 30,000 pilgrims from Karnataka who wish to visit the Kashi Vishwanath temple in Uttar Pradesh’s Varanasi will benefit.
Through this scheme of the state government financial assistance of Rs.5000 will be provided to Kashi pilgrims. Any pilgrim from the state can avail the financial assistance under this scheme only once in his lifetime. Such interested candidates who want to avail the benefits under Kashi Yatra Yojana Karnataka 2022 can apply online through the official portal of the scheme.
Kashi Yatra Yojana Bharat Honor Train Service
Under the Kashi Yatra Yojana Karnataka 2022 launched by the Chief Minister of the state, Basavaraja Bommai, train arrangements are being made to visit the Kashi Vishwanath temple. It is called India Honor Train. The state government has allocated a budget of Rs 500 crore to prepare this train and it will be Karnataka’s first Bharat Gaurav train.
It will be ready from September to October 2022. This train runs from Bangalore to Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh. During the journey stop at only two places at Ayodhya and Prayagraj. This special train will consist of 14 coaches and 11 AC 3-tier coaches and will cover a distance of 4100 km in 7 days.
- Along with this keeping in mind the faith of the Kashi pilgrims, a part of the train will be completely converted into a temple where hymns will be sung to create a devotional atmosphere for the pilgrims.
- Apart from this, the state government has also announced that the travel fare of this special train for the pilgrims has been fixed at Rs. 15,000 out of which the state government will give Rs. 5,000 as subsidy to the pilgrims.

Objective of Karnataka Kashi Yatra Yojana
Kashi Yatra Yojana Karnataka 2022 has been launched by the Chief Minister of the State Hon’ble Basavaraja Bommai. Its main objective is to benefit the poor and economically weaker Hindu citizens of the state who wish to make a pilgrimage to the Kashi Vishwanath Temple.
The Kashi Vishwanath Temple in Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh is about 1700 km from the state. It is quite a long journey for financially weak pilgrims. Financially weak pilgrims have to face various financial problems to visit Kashi. But now Karnataka state government has started Kashi Yatra project to solve this problem.
Under this scheme pilgrims will be given a subsidy of Rs.5,000. With the help of this Kashi Yatra from Karnataka to Varanasi can be easily completed without any financial problem.
Benefits of Karnataka Kashi Yatra Scheme
Kashi Yatra Yojana Karnataka 2023 has been launched by Karnataka State Government. Under this the poor and economically weaker citizens of the state are encouraged to undertake the Kashi Yatra.

For this the pilgrims only need to provide proof of their journey to the Kashi Vishwanath Temple, after which information will be provided by the concerned department.
Along with this, devotees seeking financial assistance have to upload the necessary travel related documents at itms.kar.nic.in and sevasindhu.karnataka.gov.in.
Special trains and accommodation facilities are also provided by the state government to make the journey of pilgrims safe and convenient under this scheme. Citizens of the state can get the benefits under this scheme launched by Karnataka government only once in a lifetime.
Merits of Karnataka Kashi Yatra Scheme
To get benefits from any government scheme, the candidate needs to fulfill certain eligibility criteria related to that scheme. Similarly, it is mandatory for the interested candidates to fulfill the following eligibility criteria to avail the benefits under the Kashi Yatra Scheme launched by the Karnataka State Government.
To apply under Kashi Yatra scheme of Karnataka, it is mandatory that the candidate should be a permanent resident of Karnataka state.
To avail the benefits under this scheme, the applicant must be at least 18 years of age.
Along with this, only candidates who have not received previous subsidy will be considered eligible under this scheme.

Interested candidates can easily apply online for Kashi Yatra. Interested candidates can apply and get subsidy through the official portal of “Hindu Religious Institution and Charities Department” or “Seva Sindhu” under this scheme of the state government.
Chief Minister Basavaraja Bommai formally launched the Kashi Yatra Yojana Karnataka 2022 in a function organized by Mujarai Department and distributed subsidy checks to a total of 10 beneficiary pilgrims. Along with this, the number of devotees coming to Kashi is increasing day by day and the amount of subsidy will be given directly to the bank account of the beneficiary pilgrims in the coming days, the Chief Minister said.

Such interested citizens of the state who wish to register themselves to avail the benefits under the Kashi Yatra Yojana Karnataka 2022, they need to follow the following guidelines:-
First you need to go to the official website of the Kashi Yatra scheme. Now the home page of the website will be displayed on your screen.
On the home page of the website you have to click on Kashi Visit Govt option. Subsidy is given on the right. After this a new page will open in front of you.
On this new page, you have to click on the option Don’t have an account? Register here below. After this a new window will open on your screen.
After that you have to click on “Next” option. Now your DigiLocker account will be linked to Seva Sindhu account and you will be successfully registered after completing your identification process.
Now you will receive your username and password. After this, you have to login by entering your login credentials details like:- Username and Password.
To register directly through Seva Sindhu website
First you need to visit the official website of Seva Sindhu. Now the home page of the website will open in front of you.
On the home page of the website, you will see the “New User? Register here under the “Application for Service” section given on the left side.
After this a new window will open on your screen. In this new window you have to link your DigiLocker account with Seva Sindhu Karnataka application by entering your Aadhaar number details.
Now you have to click on “Next” option then your digilocker account will be linked with Seva Sindhu account and after completing your identification process you will be registered successfully.
After this you have to go back to Seva Sindhu home page. Now you have to enter your email id/mobile number, OTP/password and captcha code details under “Application for Service”.
