Postgraduate Indira Gandhi Scholarship for Single Girl Child 2022-23 University Grants Commission Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India is providing financial assistance to about 3,000 girls selected across the country every year with the aim of supporting the girl child in India.

36,200 per annum will be given to selected female students under the Indira Gandhi Single Girl Scholarship for a total period of two years so that they can continue their studies.

Indira Gandhi Scholarship 2022-23 Terms and Conditions
Applicants must follow the following terms and conditions to apply for the scholarship

• Only first year female students of PG course are eligible for this UGC scholarship.
• Candidates are not eligible for any additional grant in lieu of hostel fee, medical fee etc.
• The host institution will not charge the awardee under the scholarship.
• Candidates are required to submit their progress report in the prescribed format to the designated bank after completion of one year of the scholarship amount. Based on that, funds are released to the beneficiaries. Goes to the next academic year. This report should be duly signed by the Head of the Department and the Registrar of the University or the Head of the Institute or the Principal of the College.

• Candidates should note that if they stop their studies without prior intimation to UGC they will have to refund the entire amount directly to UGC account through e-mode.
• Applicants availing the benefit of this scholarship can also apply for other scholarships.
• The scholarship will be terminated if the candidate is found to be engaging in any kind of indecent behavior and providing false information at any stage of the application.

Applicants must meet the following eligibility criteria to apply for the scholarship

• Applicants must have taken admission in the first year of a regular, full-time postgraduate course in any recognized university or post-graduate college.
• Candidate should be the only child of his/her parents. Candidates should not have any siblings. And female students who are twin sisters/brothers can apply for this UGC scholarship.
• Candidates age at the time of admission to PG course should not be more than 30 years.
• Candidates taking admission in PG course through distance mode are not eligible for this scholarship.
• There is no income criteria for applicants to be eligible for this scholarship.

• Aadhaar Enrollment / Scanned copy of Aadhaar Card.
• Applicant’s photo.
• Self-attested copy of mark sheet of previous class.
• Fee receipt of current course.
• A certificate stating that she is an only child on stamp paper of Rs.50 duly attested by First Class Magistrate / Gazetted Officer / SDM
