The Bangalore city district comprises the towns of Bangalore and Anekal, the capital of Karnataka.
Bangalore is the largest city and capital of the state of Karnataka. Bangalore Taluk has an area of 392 sq.km. In 1956, Bangalore had three taluks: Bangalore North, Bangalore South, Anekal.
In 2020, Bangalore has five taluks, the Bangalore taluk is divided into the Yelhankha taluk, the Bangalore south taluk is renamed as Kangrai, the Kengeri taluk is divided into the Krishnarajapur taluk, and the Anakkal taluk.
