The state’s libraries have been hit by the Corona lockdown. But the public library department has developed the software to make the library book readable on the mobile, so that readers don’t shy away from the culture of reading.

From April 24 to June, the public library department has seen an increase in app users. With 1.35 lakh readers downloading the e-library app, the library department has reported that more than 80,000 people have logged on the department’s web.

There are millions of e-books available
Including Books of all classes in the Department of Primary and Secondary Education, Government of Karnataka. Secondary PUC commercial science technology, art and various competitive examination texts including KSIS and IPS have been uploaded to this library. More than six thousand videos have been uploaded to the web, including policy books, quizzes and value-added books for children, according to library department officials.

The Director of Public Library Department Dr Krishnan Krishnan said that if the poets and literary writers of Kannada literature were to be given a soft copy of the books they had written, they would be digitized and put into the library. Says Satish Kumar Hosumani.
