Representatives from Universal Sompo General Insurance Company have agreed to pay a sum of Rs 8.49 crore to 9911 farmer complainants, including pending payments, under the local natural disaster of early monsoon crop of 2021-22.

33,109 complaints were received from farmers in the district under the Natural Disaster Relief Compensation for the year 2021-22. 22,013 crore has already been paid to 21521 farmers. As a result, 3480 complaints have been paid in part to farmers.

The insurance company’s representatives have also agreed with the District Collector that the 6,431 farmers who filed a late crop loss will also be paid Rs 5.991 crore by April 20.

As a result, all farmers who have lodged complaints with the local natural disaster unit in the Kalaburagi district for the 2021-22 monsoon drought will be eligible for compensation, the district officials said.
