The government’s Prime Minister Jan Dhan’s project has served 7 years. This plan of government has been appreciated by the masses. The number of accounts opened under this scheme has tripled in a few years.
The Department of Financial Services (DFS) tweeted this. The accounts of Prime Minister Jan Dhan’s project have tripled, it was written in a tweet. In March 2015, the number of accounts increased from Rs 14.72 crore to Rs 43 crore.
There are many facilities available for the Prime Minister Jan Dhan project
The world’s largest financial inclusion initiative has opened the doors of banks for poor people and given them a Jan Dhan account passbook and a RuPay card. Under this scheme, once the account is opened, everyone is provided with cheap insurance, pension and other financial products.
2.30 lakh to Jan-Dhan account holders Profit is paid.
Jan Dhan account holders will be given contingency insurance coverage on account opening at any bank.
1,00,000 Accidental Insurance is provided to the account holders. On the other hand, if Jan-Dhan has an accident, he will have to pay Rs 30,000.
If the account holder dies in the accident, his family has to pay Rs 2 lakh. Against this backdrop, Jan Dhan account holders can avail up to Rs 2.30 lakh.
How to open an account
Under Prime Minister Jan Dhan’s plan, the account will be opened in public sector banks. But, if you wish, you can also open your Jan Dhan account in a private bank. If you have any other savings account, you can convert it to a Jan Dhan account. Any citizen living in India can open a Jan Dhan account if their age is 10 years or more.
What documents are required
To open a Jan Dhan account, document verification is done under KYC. The Jan Dhan account can be opened using these documents ie Aadhaar Card, PAN Card, Driving License, Voter Identity Card, Passport, MNREGA Job Card.
